History Edit

Morocco has been inhabited by Islamic and Berber peoples since ancient times. It was colonized by France and Spain in the mid-1800's. After the Second World War (1954), it gained its independence. The region in the south of the country, known as Spanish Sahara and then Western Sahara, experienced much turmoil and sovereignty disputes. There were several guerilla wars fought between the Moroccan Army and the Western Sahara rebels. Finally, in 2089, the United Nations recognized the Western Sahara as part of Morocco. Morocco has always remained fairly prosperous and safe, especially compared to the surrounding nations. Morocco has always been more accepting of other ways of life than their neighbors.

Cataclysms Edit

During the cataclysms of the 22nd and 23rd centuries, Morocco suffered very little, as it was a mountainous country. Any coastal cities, such as Casablanca, Kenitra, and parts of Tangier were rebuilt on higher ground (Casablanca was renamed Mediouna). Morocco definitely fared better than its neighbors. This is one of the reasons that led to the Moroccan Empire's creation.

Foundation of the Empire Edit

The Moroccan Empire was founded in 2400, out of the weaker countries of the United Governates of the Northern Maghreb, Northwest Mauritania, and Morocco. It was annexed bloodlessly, as Northern Maghreb and Northwest Mauritania had weak governments and the people favored sovereignty from the stronger nation. The first King was Aladmullah IV, and Ibramhiz Raqooka was the first Prime Minister.

Geography Edit

Morocco has a coastline on the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Strait of Gibraltar. The Gulf of Tunisia was formed during the cataclysms, as it was a low-lying area. The geography spans from coastal plains to high mountain peaks. The Atlas Mountains run the length of the country. The eastern part of Morocco is occupied by the arid Sahara desert.

Climate Edit

The Moroccan Empire has a variety of climates. Mediterranean on the coastlines, arid in the east, and alpine in the interior. The Atlas Mountains are the coldest part of Africa.
