Like Panem and Cicenses, they've managed to retain the current month and day for the past millenium, but not the year. The Taino Calendar system is exactly 108 years behind of Panem's system.
They currently are holding free trade with all other nation in the Americas, including Panem and Circenses.
Tierra Taina began as two seperate nations; One of them was on the on remainding island of what was once the Bahamas, Andros in 10 Octubre 56 B.T.(Before Tainos). It began as a small and fragile Parliamentary Republic . They eventually fell, in the year 20 May 23 B.T., to a man who ruled with an iron fist. By 10 B.T., President Walter Bruadair expanded the Androsian Empire and claimed St. Dominic (Hispaniola), Borinquen (Puerto Rico) and Santiago (Jamaica). By this time, the people demanded a much looser government, which they had to obey to avoid rebellion.
The Second Cuban Republic began as a Totalitarian Oligarchy, in the Northernmost island of what once was the island of Cuba circa 80 B.T.(the island containg Havana) Piece by piece, they conquered the entire Cuban Archipelago by 75 B.T. The oligarchy fell to a fragile Republic. In 60 B.T., a military junta overthrew the Republic. They held power for 600 days before falling at the death of the leader( ). In 31 B.T., a new party formed, the Machadists, who wanted to bring back the Totalitarian system. In 30 B.T., to avoid a posssible take-over, extensive investigation found large amouts of the party had commited minor crimes, making them ineledgible for their positions as of the current Constitution.
In 12 B.T., the Second Cuban Republic and The Androsian Empire went to war over the Isle of Youth, to which Cuba had a historic and geographic claim, but Andros a militaristic one. By 1 January 0, the two called for an official ceasefire. The two united into the Unitary State of the Taino People.
As Cuba was a Spanish-speaking country, Spanish in eastern St. Dominic (Dominican Republic) and Borinquen (Puerto Rico) was permitted, though French and its variants were still illegal in former Haiti.
The Union of Taino Socialist Republics formed, governing all the people in a restricted democracy. The Capital was in a city somewhere in Western St. Dominic, which fell to heightened volcanic activity. The Unitary State, which held together the 5 Socialist Republics, fell to a military junta led by the alleged Machadist Party. They held power from 3 A.T. to 30 A.T. They were replaced by a Parliamentary Democracy in which the head of state, El Canciller/ The Chancellor, would have to share power with El Secretario-General/The General-Secretary. It was the United Carribean Community of Taino Peoples. The Presidential Party of 41 A.T. rewrote the constitution to create a Unitary Representative Democracy. Now, the new government had an Official Capital (which the old didn't), situated in the ancient city of Havana.
In the year 77, the people of Oriente, in the south-east of Cuba, attempted at succcesion from the state. They were at point of Rebellion, so the leader granted more softened laws for Oriente. The people of Santiago demanded this as well, so the Constitution was rewritten again for the singular purpose of making each Terra ¨happy and prosperous¨.
In the year 122, these and several rights were taken away, sparking a rebellion, against the acclaimed "Authoritarian Dictatorship". The rebellion caused several fatalities on all sides. The five socialist republics rebelled against the Capital, protected by walls, even by the terra on which it was situated. On the eve 8 June 130, the Capitol was overun by soldiers and fell to Restricted Democracy.
After the Second Rebellion of Panem, the three nations of the Americas began an era of free trade, as of the FTT (Free Trade Treaty). Eventually, the nation of Tugonia succeded from Panem and became a signatory state as a seceding country from Panem. As more nations in The Americas are discovered, they're added to the Agreement to continously add to the evergrowing wealth of the Contracting Parties.
Autonomous Communities are the official administrative divisions of Tierra Taina. They also form the five nations united under one leadership.
Androsia or Andros is the one remaining island of the Bahaman archipelago. It is located in what was once called the island of Andros. It is also housing 4 precincts. It is home to the Anglicanism and English-speakers. It has been the main political center of the Carribean throughout recent history.
St. Dominic is situated in what was once Hispaniola. It was also the first addition to the Androsian Empire. It is colliqually called Santo Domingo by the Spanish speaking community. It is housing 36 precincts. It is houses ruins of old cities buried beneath volcanic ash.
Established in the ruins of what once was Puerto Rico, Borinquen boasts a most true connection with the actual Tainos. The governor of Puerto Rico is reffered to as a cacique, an old name for a Taino tribal chief, as an example of their connection. They speak Spanish but use Taino terms. They were gained as a territory of Androsia before Arawak, but after Creole. They were later incorporated into Tierra Taina. It has 35 precincts.
Once there was a place called Jamaica, whose people fell to disasters, and were eventually incorparated into the Androsian Empire under the name Santiago. Home to a culture based based off the Arawaks, the ancestors of the Tainos. The island is colliqually called Jamaica, Santiago being its historic colonial name. They were incorparated into the Androsian Empire, shortly before its end. They are a people very closely connected with their ancestry. They speak English variants with limitedTaino terms.
The Autonomous Community of Cuba is home to a large Spanish-speaking populace. It is seperated into 8 precincts over the Cuban archipelago. It was home to the Second Cuban Republic. It boasts the Taino Capital Territory (see below).
Taino Capitol TerritoryEdit
Situated where the Capital, La Habana, or Habana lies, the Taino Capitol Territory is not a Terra, it is actually home to the Capital and part of the Cuban Terra. They speak mainly Spanish. The entire city is supposed to be gradually underwater, but it was surfaced by dams. According to a plaque, this was funded by an ancient organization called UNESCO.
Colonia is a disputed territory between Panem, Circenses and Tierra Taino. Tierra Taino tries to avoid the political argument, but scientific research on behalf of the Tainos has gone on for 37 years.
The Flag of the Tainos is a combination of ancient flags of the five autonomous communities. Together, they symbolize the history and culture of the Carribean. In the Upper right corner is a map of the Caribbean.
Since the union of Andros and Cuba was between those two nations with the other autonomous communities bein relatively unimportant, this flag showing only the union of the flags of Andros and Cuba is commonly used. It is sometimes used as a symbol of the low human development in the conquered autonomous communities and inequality in the conquered autonomous communities.
The flag shows the red chevron and black chevron of Cuba and the Bahamas (Androsia), with the 5 Cuban stripes instead of the Bahamas´ 3. The light blue and the yellow are Bahamian though.
SealEditThe Seal of the Tainos has the same ideal as the Flag, unifying the Carribean.
The Palm Tree symbolizes the carribean, along with the conch as its center. A Phrygian cap at the top symbolizes liberty. The Indian supporter is a member of the Taino/Arawak tribe, holding the crest with the palm frond.
The Upper Crest resembeles how the Carribean sits in between the Transatlantic Penisula and the Georgian Penisula. The red stripes represent Borinquen. The palm represents again, the Carribean. Both supporters of the crest stand on the name of the state.
